The report indicates that an attacker uses the Babadeda encryption program on Discord to hide malware targeting the encryption, NFT, and DeFi communities. Babadeda is an encryptor used to encrypt and mask malicious payloads in installers of seemingly harmless applications. Starting in May 2021, the perpetrators have distributed remote access Trojans for legitimate applications disguised by Babadeda on the Discord channel. However, due to its complicated obfuscation methods, its detection rate is shallow, and according to Morphisec researchers, its infection rate is rising.
