Aliens TLDR

Animoca Brands stated that the Discord server of the science fiction NFT game Phantom Galaxies was hacked on November 19. Animoca Brands said it will make up for the loss of 265 ETH, valued at approximately $1.1 million. The hack involved the game Phantom Galaxies. It was being developed by its Australian subsidiary Blowfish Studios. Animoca Brands pointed out that there is no evidence that smart contracts have been breached. No funds have been stolen from the game or its developers or publishers.

According to the company, hackers successfully accessed Phantom Galaxies' Discord account and took over its server last week. The hacker subsequently issued a fraudulent statement claiming that the game is launching an NFT minting activity. The hacker directs the user to a website, charges the user a fee of 0.1 ETH, and then sends the funds to the hacker's Ethereum address. A total of 265 ETH was sent, which is approximately US$1.1 million. The company stated that the specific method to compensate users for the loss of ETH will be determined after discussions in the Phantom Galaxies community.
